12 BEERS FOR CHRISTMAS

So, the holiday is fast approaching and you need beer to entertain your friends for parties and family gatherings alike. Here’s our list of awesome Christmas beers which are fitting for any event.

Abita Christmas Ale – A Lousiana Christmas in a bottle, the brown ale is mild at 5.5% ABV making it a nice easy going treat for anyone.

Affligem Noel Christmas Ale – You don’t need a fire to keep you warm with this 9%ABV Dark Belgian style ale. The beer pairs wonderfully with sharp and funky cheeses or makes a wonderful dessert.

Bell’s Christmas Ale – A 5.4% ABV Scottish Ale that is sweet and malty perfect for the non-hop-head beer lover yet still rich.

Coresendonk Christmas Ale – Another Belgian Strong Ale which is a Christmas time classic. Filled with smoke, spice, and subtle notes of citrus, the beer is great with desserts.

Goose Island Christmas – A strong brown ale, this years edition features aromas of dried fruits with spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove.

Harpoon Winter Warmer – A full-bodied rich ale that uses a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg to achieve its spirited flavor.

Long Trail Hibernator – A rich and malty, slightly sweet Winter Ale which uses brown sugar and honey to give the beer complex flavors that makes it go wonderfully with chocolate or cheese.

Magic Hat Heart of Darkness – Don’t let the name fool you, this winter beer is an awesome Oatmeal stout with notes of bittersweet chocolate.

Rogue Santa’s Private Reserve – This beer stars out as the Rogue classic, St. Rogue Red and then for the holidays is hopped up with an intense amount of Chinook, Centennial, and “Rudolph” hops.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale – A holiday IPA, this beer is rich with malt giving it a very rich and hearty flavor for the season.Starr Hill The Gift – A great beer that’s not overwhelming, The Gift is very much a traditional style Heller Bock making it great for anyone.

Troegs Mad Elf – No list would be complete without Troeg’s Mad Elf, a cherry and honey flavored strong ale in the Belgian Tradition.
